Child Disability Support Centre: The Alberta Supports Contact Centre is a contact centre for general inquiries on income support, child health benefits, child support services, and Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped.
Connections Counselling & Consulting Foundation: Provides financial coaching for parents who themselves have cognitive disabilities.
Disability Tax Credit (DTC): A government tax credit that reduces the amount of income tax that a person with a disability and/or their caregiver has to pay.
Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD): Provincial program which provides funding for Community and Home supports for families who have a child with a disability. Eligible families receive a yearly contract covering benefits based on the individual, disability-related needs of the child/family.
Program Unit Funding (PUF): Program from Alberta Education. This provincially-funded program focuses on providing additional educational/therapeutic supports within the preschool setting for children under the age of 6 with severe disabilities or delays. It can be obtained for a max of 3 years.
