Job title: Digital Media Assistant

Description: Assistant will work closely with our support team. Working hours will be a combination of in-office and work from home days. Candidates should be organized and have a good understanding of video editing and social media. Some relation to the autism community is preferable but not mandatory.

Some tasks may include:

  • Video Repurposing: Review a library of past webinars and event videos to cut
    and edit short, engaging 30-60 second clips.
  • Platform Management: Safely download video assets from Vimeo and migrate
    them over to the YouTube channel.
  • File Organization: Keep our digital video files organized in Google Drive and
    track your migration progress on a simple checklist.
  • Any other tasks required

Skills We Are Looking For:

  • Basic Video Editing: Experience making vertical videos (9:16) with captions
    using tools like CapCut, Canva, or similar software.
  • Platform Familiarity: Comfort navigating YouTube and Vimeo.Attention to Detail: You enjoy keeping digital files organized and checking off
    tasks systematically.
  • Communication: Ability to work independently and check in with the team via
    email or Google Chat when you have questions.

Starting date: flexible before or on July 6th
Duration: 8 weeks
Salary: $15 per hour
Hours: 35 hours per week
Location: in person at the AC office

Job title: Bookkeeper

Autism Calgary is excited to expand our team! We are looking for a part time Bookkeeper who will welcome an opportunity to apply their skills to support the advancement of our charity activities by supporting day to day bookkeeping and assisting with financial reporting, budget planning, and grant fiscal management.

Autism Calgary is an association of individuals and families living with Autism striving to assist each other and the broader community so that those on the spectrum live meaningful and purposeful lives in a community that values them. 

Description of Role and Duties

  • Member of Autism Calgary’s administrative team, reporting to the Executive Director.
  • Key responsibilities include:
    • Process invoice, expense, and donation transactions
    • Monitor ongoing revenues, expenses, and maintain financial records
    • Support the development of the annual charity budget
    • Generate monthly and quarterly year to date budget reports
    • Prepare interim and final grant financial reports
  • Structure and adapt financial data structures as required .
  • Guide and support staff responsible for payroll, and charity receipting.
  • Work with project teams to coordinate grant spending and optimize program development.
  • Determine current and future financial gaps and identify opportunities for advancing fund development.
  • Assess and evaluate donor patterns to guide in fundraising initiatives.

Requirements for the Role

  • Post secondary education in accounting, financial management, or related discipline.
  • Experience/knowledge of not for profit bookkeeping and financial management is an asset.
  • Thoughtful understanding of Autism is an asset but not required.  
  • Familiarity and comfort working with a computer, including MS Office Products, Google Workspace, Intuit Quickbooks Online.
  • Must be able to work well independently in a self directed manner and contribute/coordinate well with a team. 
  • Good time management and the ability to juggle multiple projects/duties at once is vital.
  • Effective communication within a neurodiverse workspace and community.

Environment: a home based position with flex hours, occasional availability for virtual or in-office meeting.
Compensation: Hourly wage commensurate with experience and education. 
Begins: To be determined, up to 20 hrs per week, potential for increased hours/responsibilities.
