Ready, Willing, & Able is a government funded initiative aimed to support Autistic individuals in various avenues; such as employment and entrepreneurship. The role of our Autism Outreach Coordinator (AOC) is to act as service navigator for Calgary-based, self-identifying Autistic job seekers, aged 16+ to supportive employment services, and/or other community resources as it pertains to the ability to secure equitable, and competitive employment. After an initial discovery meeting with a job seeker (where their employment goals and support needs are discussed), the AOC can make recommendations to resources in the community, with the ultimate aim of assisting them connect to supports who can assist in obtaining and retaining that competitive employment. Support services can support by providing pre-employment and employment readiness supports, having connections to competitive employment opportunities with businesses in a variety of industries and offering any additional supports or accommodations that may be needed once hired
