The Calgary Alternative Poss-Abilities prorgram offers personal empowerment through support and advocacy with systems navigation and access and community connections as well as case management and service coordination. Decision Making: Guardianship/Trusteeship Application Preparation
Lorna and Kelsey can guide parents to access the forms and documents needed prior to starting the applications, then support throughout the process to the end when the documents are ready for the Court
Easter Seals
The Family Resource Centre supports parents of children, adults and teens transitioning into adulthood with informatinon, resources and supports. They have help with navigating FSCD and PDD, guardianship/trusteeship / transitioning to adulthood and more.
Inclusion Alberta
Inclusion Alberta is a family-based non-profit federation that advocates on behalf of children and adults with intellectual disabilities and their families. Together, we share a dream of meaningful family life and community inclusion for individuals with intellectual disabilities. As an advocacy organization we support families and individuals in their desire to be fully included in community life.
Independent Living Resource Centre Calgary (ILRCC)
Is an organization committed to empowering individuals 18+ with disabilities throughout Alberta. They have a website database to help caregivers find respite workers. They provide help with AISH Applications & Appeals, PDD Applications, City of Calgary Fee Entry Program, Housing Applications and more. They offer Social Skills programs, Community Access, Support Independent Living Program and have programs for Cooking, Art & Crafts, Yoga, Bowling, Social evening, Music and Dance, ASL and more.
RISE Calgary
Their programs and services are all about moving community members from a place of scarcity, to one of strength. They acknowledge and support people on their journey, helping them to find solutions to stabilize their immediate needs first, so that we can build a strong foundation and nudge people towards empowerment. Their communities are inherently strong and resilient, and through a culture of problem solving and coaching, we create space for people to dream and plan. They provide wellness and engagement, basic needs supports, money management and life skills along with a Good Food Box program.

Voices for Albertans with Disabilities (VAD)
Among myriad other advocacy- and support-related programs, this organization offers aid in filling out essential disability-related paperwork, such as for AISH, DTC, DATS, and more. Their website offers checklists and video guides to help in this, as well as being available for personal appointments to provide individualized aid. The organization also offers a small number of education-related bursaries.
