  • Social Context & Autism Spectrum Disorder: Breaking New Instructional Ground

Day 1:   Social Stories™ 10.2

This workshop will present a comprehensive approach on Social Stories™, an internationally recognized evidence-based strategy for learners with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Participants will come to discover the ever-expanding versatility and value of this incredible instructional strategy for the very first time or update their skills and understanding of Social Stories™. We will learn how to develop, write, and implement Social Stories™.

Day 2:   Social Context & Autism Spectrum Disorder: Breaking New Instructional Ground

The ability to gain meaning from social context is highly complex, yet is often taken for granted by those who quickly process this detailed and multi-faceted information with ease. This ground-breaking presentation uses lecture, demonstration, and activities to share a working definition of social context to provide a backdrop for exploring key issues in the education of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders. We will explore friendship, emotion regulation, social concepts and skills, and much more. Participants will leave with a wealth of straightforward intervention tools to teach the elusive social context curriculum to individuals with ASD.
