We are currently seeking a part-time Office Associate
Autism Calgary is excited to expand our team! We are looking for an individual who is comfortable with a wide range of office responsibilities, enjoys collaborating with others, and wants to make a difference in the community. This part-time role (~20 hours/week) involves working within Autism Calgary’s operations team, reporting to the Executive Director. The contract is temporary (for a 12-month period of employment) with the possibility of an extension based on funding. Hourly wage will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience and education.
Autism Calgary is a non-profit association of individuals and families living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) striving to assist each other and the broader community, so that those with ASD live meaningful and purposeful lives in a community that values them.
Description of Role and Duties
- Database entry and maintenance
- Basic bookkeeping and payroll
- Basic office management
- Answer the general phone system and emails
- Volunteer coordination
- Assist with donor recognition
- Attend regular staff meetings to address organizational issues and collaborate on initiatives
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements for the Role
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience is recommended.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Good time management and the ability to juggle multiple projects/duties at once is vital.
- Having understanding, acceptance, and respect for the diverse views and perspectives within the community is important.
- Familiarity with ASD and disability-related services in Alberta is a strong asset.
- Familiarity and comfort working with a computer, including MS Office Products and Quickbooks.
- Access to a home office/work space with a reliable internet connection (for work-from-home purposes).
- Must be able to work well independently in a self-directed manner and contribute/coordinate in a timely fashion.
- Must work well with a team and be willing to pitch in and help with duties and projects outside of the normal duties, where needed.
