Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch- June 9th 2012
Autism Calgary is inviting our members and families to the annual picnic, which for this year is being held at Our Lady of Peace Queen’s Ranch. This picnic will be held on Saturday, June 9th 2012. Autism Calgary is arranging for bussing from the Sears Entrance of Marlborough Mall, with pick-up and drop-off at this location. Please register for this to ensure a spot on the bus. Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch (OLQP) is a non-profit organization located in Bragg Creek, Alberta. This was founded in 1988, with a vision to enable children 0-18 who are physically, mentally or financially challenged to have an outdoor ranch experience. Children will have access to opportunities such as horseback riding, hiking, fishing, canoeing and a BBQ hotdog lunch. Facilities within this ranch include the OK Corral, Walton Hall, (where the ACA picnic will be based). Other areas include an accessible playground and pontoon boat, swimming dock, teepee’s. There is also the Trading Post (which sells clothing for any last minute purchases), and Westmont Field, where there is space for running for anyone who requires this.
At the picnic, families will register for certain activities, such as horseback riding, hiking and canoeing, to ensure OLQP can provide adequate staffing. OLQP is providing a hotdog lunch, and Autism Calgary is providing additional snacks of fruits and vegetables, we do encourage families on special diets to supplement their own lunch as appropriate.
Bring a change of clothes if required as the playground is very close to an outdoor swimming area- with a rope swing. Bring sun protection gear; hats, sun block, and cover up in case of weather changes. The Walton Hall does have some indoor games if required due to weather conditions.
This entire area is highly conducive to a family picnic, and Autism Calgary is very excited by the opportunities presented through OLQP. We encourage you to register for this picnic and look forward to seeing you and your family here.

ITINERARY:
9:00 am- Pick up from Sears Parking lot at Marlborough Mall

10:00 am– OLQP Arrival & event Registration in Walton Hall. (Open Agenda)
Activities available: Horseback riding (register in advance), Playground, Fishing
11:30 am- Lunch- Walton Hall Kitchen. Hot Dogs, Fruit, Vegetables.
1:00 pm– Open Agenda
4:00 pm – Departure from Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch- drop off Marlborough Mall—Sears entrance.
Please Note: All members using busing are responsible for making their own arrangements to arrive and return to and from the meeting place; the bus provided will not be making stops en-route.
