Community Relations Coordinator

This diverse and highly collaborative role requires an individual with non-profit experience who is prepared to aide a burgeoning grass roots association both behind the scenes as well as on the front lines. 12-18 month maternity leave coverage required.
Responsibilities
(1) Grants

- Acquisition
- Finding grants through research and liaising with community partners and funders
- Collaboratively planning programs and projects in alignment with community and organizational need
- Acquisition
- Writing grant applications
(2) Liaising and maintaining constant communication with funders and potential funders
- Grant Reporting
- Project Management:
- Tracking and recording organizational outcomes, outputs and deliverables
- Tracking grant, project and program timelines and ensuring outcomes are being completed on schedule in alignment with funding agreements
- Writing and submitting granting reports in a timely fashion to funders
- Project Management:
(3) Community Development

- Coordinating all volunteers for Autism Calgary
- Supervising specific volunteers on a weekly basis (including arranging scheduling and coordinating appropriate volunteer tasks)
- Planning and implementing annual community events
- Holiday Party: Arranging and booking the venue, ordering catering, recruiting and coordinating volunteer, coordinating activities, developing online marketing and registration, promoting the event to membership
- Summer Party: Arranging and booking the venue, ordering catering, recruiting and coordinating volunteer, coordinating activities, developing online marketing and registration, promoting the event to membership
- Various Parent Panel Events: Collaboratively coordinating the event in conjunction with the Family Support Coordinator
- Fundraising events: Organizing in-person or online fundraising events and campaigns including all logistical preparations and promotions.
- Obtaining and maintaining corporate event sponsors
(4) Communications

- Updating Autism Calgary’s website as needed by colleagues
- Collaboratively maintaining Autism Calgary’s social media pages
- Developing and sending out monthly e-newsletters
- Providing regular communication to donors
- Writing and sending out annual donation campaign letter
(5) Other Duties:

- Administrative duties where needed
- Office maintenance where needed including cleaning, dishwashing, and shopping for supplies for the office, events or programs (shared duty among all staff)
- When needed, welcoming guests and clients to the office and directing them appropriately(shared duty among all staff)

Requirements:
- 3+ years experience in the non-profit sector (specifically with a small to medium non-profit) is required
- Experience writing, acquiring and reporting of grants to both government and private foundations is required
- Administrative experience is required, especially in a non-profit environment.
- Volunteer coordination or management experience is an asset
- Project management experience is an asset
- Knowledge or personal connection to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is an asset
- Bachelors degree in social sciences, arts, business or other fields is required. Masters degree or other relevant post graduate education is an asset.
Autism Calgary will provide the right candidate a competitive salary ($48,000-$56,500) alongside a health spending account, generous vacation allowance, flexibility in schedule and a family like team environment. The position is primarily a work-from home position during the pandemic. However, it will shift to a combination of virtual and in-office work after pandemic conditions allow. Therefore, the position must be based in the Calgary area.
