Child Disability Support Centre

The Alberta Supports Contact Centre is a contact centre for general inquiries on income support, child health benefits, child support services, and Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped.

     
    Connections Counselling & Consulting Foundation

    Provides financial coaching for parents who themselves have cognitive disabilities.

       
      Disability Tax Credit (DTC)

      A government tax credit that reduces the amount of income tax that a person with a disability and/or their caregiver has to pay.

         
        Decision Making: Guardianship/Trusteeship Application Preparation

        Lorna Selig and Kelsey Kryski, both Commissioners for Oaths, have been preparing Guardianship and Trusteeship applications for more than 15 years, collectively. They are well experienced with the forms, the preparation, the consultation, and the questions families have. Lorna and Kelsey can guide parents to access the forms and documents needed prior to starting the applications, then support throughout the process to the end when the documents are ready for the Court. In-person services available at their office, the families home, or online if preferred. Offered across Alberta.

           
          Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD)

          Provincial program which provides funding for Community and Home supports for families who have a child with a disability. Eligible families receive a yearly contract covering benefits based on the individual, disability-related needs of the child/family.

             
            Program Unit Funding (PUF)

            Program from Alberta Education. This provincially-funded program focuses on providing additional educational/therapeutic supports within the preschool setting for children under the age of 6 with severe disabilities or delays. It can be obtained for a max of 3 years.
